Botanical Gardens

A beautiful day.

Dinosaurs Alive!

We went to an awesome IMAX movie the other day called Dinosaurs Alive.

Big Things

Can you believe this sign????

Some big things we've seen in TX. This is the drink Chris was given at a BBQ joint by our house called Red Hot and Blue.

Yum!

Trashy

I was in a shoe store buying Alex a size (11 1/2 !)when I hear this sweet little boy calling my name.

He was in the trash can cupboard!!!!
:note the trash can in front of the mirror that he was smart enough to remove prior to jumping in!
Gotta love that boy!

Things You don't see in UT

Is this a riot or what? The kids were cracking up. Ryan was shocked that people actually go out to eat on Sunday after church. I had to clue him in to the fact that we are one of the few religions left who don't $hop/$pend/ or go to work on the Sabbath Day..........And what a blessing that is to have a peaceful rest from the hectic schedule of the rest of the week.

My New Family Car

I can imagine myself in this bus....can't you?

Funny Things in Texas

The kids have been on "vacation" with me this last week and a half before getting back into the busy school routine. We have seen some hilarious things in TX and I will post a few more.
This was at a little whole- in -the- wall diner called the Flying Fish. If you bring in a "singing fish" they will adopt it and take care of it for life. (: You get a 3 piece catfish meal (8.99) for free. Of course my bargain hunting, thrifty mind thought back to all of the "Billy Bass " singing fishes I have seen at DI (thrift store) for the last several years for a $1.00 or less. Holy crud.....I could have fed the family for a year on all of those stinkin' fish!!! My little bargain hunter kids realized that too as they read the sign and we all laughed about the "shoulda- coulda- woulda's of life!
I have had so much fun with them and NO SCHEDULE!

Carving Contest

The kids entered a contest at the Clubhouse and Alex and Ryan both won $20 gift cards from Best Buy.....and I was bugged about paying 2.98 for each pumpkin compared to UT pumpkin prices. (:

Gramma's Halloween Box

Gramma Betsy sent her famous annual Halloween box that the kids always look forward to. YEAH! Thanks, Mom.

Dallas Temple

We were able to drive over to the Dallas Temple on Sunday. It is tucked away in a very beautiful, quiet neighborhood. It was very peaceful and wonderful to be there.

Airport SLC, UT to Dallas, TX

12 pieces of luggage,6 kids, 2 adults,6 carry ons.........now that is a relaxing experience! We are so thankful to have made it here in 2 short hours of flight time instead of 2-3 days of driving. Thanks again to Lockheed Martin.

Saying Goodbye

Saying goodbye to our friends was not easy.We only got a few pictures...which I regret.
After our house was empty and we were staying in a hotel we came back to the house to finish up yard work and our home teacher and his wife were there already cleaning up leaves and sweeping. They washed windows and brought over fans to dry the carpet quickly after the cleaners came. Our other neighbor let us do laundry at their house and let Johnny and Adam eat breakfast and watch a show instead of running around our empty, VERY CLEAN house and wrecking it. He also hauled away all extra boxes and took care of all of the chemicals we could not move...cleaners, weed killers, aerosols, propane, gas etc. We left a key with him and he had 6 fans running to dry the carpet. He was going to make sure all of the fans get returned and he will prep our house for any showings by opening windows, shades, turning lights on, and lighting candles. It was great to be able to leave the state and know our house is being watched over. The movers broke one of our front big glass windows during loading and we had a sprinkler head run over and a spigot got broken in the back yard. He will also make sure all of those get fixed for us. We are so thankful for all of the trustworthy neighbors we have to count on. What a blessing. We will miss everyone immensely.

Loading Day

It was beautiful weather. Just watching the movers do their work made me realize once again that I would rather be a septic tank pumper than a professional mover.

Our Last Night in Pleasant View

It looked a lot like this. Our neighbors, the Williams, brought over this yummy dinner after a long day.Nothing ever tasted so good! Our last sunset was beautiful, but I only caught the end of it on camera. It was an emotional day.
